From the Publisher: When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.

So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn’t wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can’t cry for someone who has no soul.

The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad’s ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend’s loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can’t possibly understand.

Kaylee can’t let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk…

First Thoughts: I’m an addict. I love Kaylee and Nash and this world. I want more, more, more!

The Story: This installment started with the death of an upcoming pop star right on stage, but Kaylee’s bean sidhe scream never came because the singer had no soul. It doesn’t stop there as Kaylee, Nash and Tod soon find out. Tod’s ex also shows up in the picture, and it seems there are some strong lingering feelings even though he is now dead. There is soul swapping and stealing and addictions of the worst kind so buckle up, this story is an intense ride!

Kaylee: She is new to the whole bean sidhe/reaper world and still has so much to learn. Everyone warns her not mess with death or “the schedule”, yet she is foolish and can’t resist saving Addy. I will admit, I did go ugh for a good portion of the novel. I really don’t care for foolish heroines who think it’s their job to save the day. The entire time I was hoping she would wise up. However, by the end of the story Kaylee totally redeemed herself because she admitted out loud that she couldn’t not help trying to save people. It was a compulsion for her. I like that she owned it even though the risks were so high.

Nash: Oh how I loved him. He is devoted and totally hot for Kaylee. He goes along with the program, but I still feel like I don’t know him well enough….and I’d like to fix that please, Ms. Vincent. :)

The Romance: Ooooh, I likey. But Nash and Kaylee need like, at least 3 hours alone ;) . They are *this* close to the next step I think. Rawr!

Twists and Turns: There were no major twists, but the plot definitely thickened and Kaylee did come up with some great solutions. I have to say I was surprised at the soul that didn’t get saved…but for some reason I hope to see it again down the road.

The Ending: It was quite tidy, but we don’t know any of the fallout for interfering. I would have liked to have seen what the repercussions were, but with the next book in hand I guess it’s all sorted out. I have to say that I really liked the revenge.

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this installment. The romance is solidified, but still still so new so that the sparks of desire are wild. The story was good and well thought out, I would rec this to everyone!
